This area includes training and information on animal research-related subjects for HMS staff, principal investigators, investigator staff, doctoral and post-doctoral students, IACUC members and animal care personnel.

All researchers must complete the course on the Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals in Research and Teaching offered by the IACUC and the ARCM Veterinary Staff on a quarterly basis. Laboratory staff hired between Course offerings may only perform animal research under the auspices of another lab member who has attended the Course. In addition, on site training and orientation with the animal facility supervisor is required to gain access for the various animal facilities.
