from ARCM-Animal Care on animal husbandry for various
species and on services available from the ARCM Veterinary
Staff.
The following
information is available in the Health & Husbandry
area:
- Species — A list of species
currently housed at HMS.
- Reporting Animal Abuse
— Do you suspect research animals are being misused
or mistreated? Please report any incidents to the
responsible institutional official: Dr. Arthur Lage
at alage@hms.harvard.edu. All reports will
be treated confidentially.
- Animal Facilities
— Species accommodated, description of microbiological
status, latest health information, access requirements,
and standard operating procedures for animal facilities
in HMA.
- Veterinary Services
— Contact numbers, on-call schedule, and a list of
services provided.
- Diagnostic Laboratory
— Contact numbers, e-mail addresses, submission forms,
location information for the ARCM Diagnostic Laboratory,
and facility health status reports.
- Quarantine Services
— Quarantine lots on site, latest quarantine lots
cleared, description of process, and submission forms.
