To obtain
animals, you must be listed on an approved animal experimentation
protocol and you or your laboratory must have
a financial account with the ARCM Business Officein
the form of either a valid 33-digit Harvard account
number or a valid purchase order from the principal
investigator's affiliated institution.
The following
information is available in the Animals In & Out
area:
- From Within HMA (HMS/BWH/HSPH)
— Forms and procedures for obtaining/transferring
animals from and to facilities within the Harvard
Medical Area (HMS, HIM, BWH, HSPH).
- From Vendors — Forms and
procedures for ordering animals from vendors (CRL,
Harlan, Jackson Lab production colonies, Taconic Farms)
approved by the veterinary staff.
- From Another Institution/Animal
Resource — Forms and procedures for obtaining
rodents animals from sources other than approved rodent
vendors (for example: academic institutions, colleagues,
non-production areas of vendors).
- To Other Institutions — Forms
and procedures for sending animals from HMA to other
institutions.
